Bunker Systems
Water: stored, treated and drawn from the ground.
The water system is the supply outside the bunker: buried cisterns, a well pump on protected power, treatment that makes any of it safe to drink, and a hand pump for the day nothing else works. It feeds the plumbing inside.

How we size it
The numbers
behind it.
How much to store
Ready.gov sets a minimum of one gallon per person per day. We plan for 3 to 5 gallons per person per day for drinking, cooking and basic hygiene: about 720 gallons for six people over 30 days.
Below frost
Cisterns and lines go below local frost depth, which runs from 6 inches in parts of Texas to 48 inches in West Yellowstone.
Drinking-water rated
Every tank and component that touches drinking water is rated for potable use, and we test the water at commissioning and every year after.
Wells and rights
Well drilling is quoted per foot after the site visit, and water rights are confirmed for your parcel before anything is ordered.
Questions
About
water.
Is water storage included in a bunker?
Every Builder bunker includes an interior tank with the Plumbing system. The Water system adds the supply outside: buried cisterns, treatment and a well connection.
Can the well run without power?
With a Standard or Premium system, yes: a hand pump shares the well, and the Premium solar well pump runs directly from panels.
Is the well included?
No. Drilling depends on depth and ground, so it is quoted per foot after the site visit. Our state land guides explain the well rules in each state.
Prices set 2026-10-28 from published retail equipment prices plus installation. Brand names describe the class of equipment; we may substitute equal or better equipment based on availability. Subscriptions, well drilling and septic systems are quoted separately.
