Bunker Systems

Protection: doors, detection and a second way out.

Every Builder bunker comes with a steel entry and an emergency exit. Protection upgrades the doors to blast- and gas-rated, adds bullet resistance, puts radiation detection inside, and watches the approach.

Three tiers

Priced,
installed.

Optional in every bunker. Add it in the Builder, or later. Prices are installed in Utah, including equipment, labor and commissioning, and are confirmed in writing after the site visit.

How we size it

The numbers
behind it.

Two ways out

The residential code requires an emergency escape opening for basement sleeping rooms, and every bunker we build has a second exit.

Pressure ratings

NBC hatches and vault doors are rated in pounds per square inch of overpressure, with double gas seals. We match them to the air system's blast valves.

Bullet resistance

UL 752 rates doors by level. Higher levels stop more powerful rounds and cost much more.

Radiation detection

A dosimeter tells you the dose rate outside and when it is safe to leave. Fallout decays quickly: the 7:10 rule says every sevenfold increase in time cuts the dose rate about tenfold.

Questions

About
protection.

Is a blast door necessary?

For fallout and storms, a sealed, gas-tight door and filtered air matter most. Blast ratings matter closer to likely targets. We help you choose for your location.

What is an escape tunnel?

A second, separate route out of the bunker, used if the main entry is blocked by debris, fire or collapse.

Why include radiation detectors?

Because the only way to know whether the air outside is safe is to measure it.
