Home/Production/Underground Bunkers
Production Division
An underground bunker, delivered, installed and connected.
Not every family is ready for a full compound. We also deliver and install stand-alone bunkers, connect every system, commission them and train your household to use them. Projects start at $50,000.
What we do
From the first
shovel to the last drill.
One crew, one contract and one point of accountability, from the site visit to the day your household runs its first drill.
- 01
Site visit
We walk the property, test the soil and find the water table, flood paths and the best place to dig.
- 02
Design and permits
We choose the shelter, engineered and stamped for your site, and handle permits with the county.
- 03
Excavation
Our crews dig, prepare the base and set the drainage before the shelter arrives.
- 04
Delivery and setting
The shelter is trucked in and craned into place, or built in place for larger designs.
- 05
Waterproofing and backfill
Membrane, drainage and compacted backfill, placed in layers to the engineer's spec.
- 06
Connections
Power, water, septic or holding tank, air intake and exhaust, communications and the emergency exit.
- 07
Commissioning
Every system tested: airflow, filtration, positive pressure, power, water, radon and CO2.
- 08
Training
Your household learns every system, the entry and sealing sequence, and the maintenance schedule.
Two paths
Manufactured
or designed.
The right shelter depends on the ground and the household. We recommend the path that fits, and install either one to the same spec.
An engineered shelter, installed
A factory-built steel or precast concrete shelter, chosen for your site and your household, then fitted with the air, power, water and radon systems the spec calls for. Faster to deliver, and a good fit for smaller households.
Built to one of our designs
One of our reference designs, engineered and stamped for your site, from the Haven 4 to the Estate 24. Right for larger households, difficult ground, or a bunker that will become the heart of a compound.
Investment
Projects start
at $50,000.
Size, depth, ground and systems set the final number. You get a written price after the site visit, before any work begins. See published ranges for each design.
Questions
About bunker-only
projects.
How much does an underground bunker installation cost?
Styrkholm bunker projects start at $50,000. The final number depends on the size of the shelter, the ground, the depth, the systems and the distance from utilities, and is set in writing after the site visit.
Do you sell manufactured shelters or build your own?
Both. We install engineered manufactured shelters where they fit the site and the household, and build our own designs where they do not. Either way it is installed, connected and commissioned to the Styrkholm Spec.
Can a bunker be added to a full compound later?
Yes. Many clients start with a bunker on land they own and build out the residence, water, power and perimeter around it over time.
Will you install a shipping container?
No. Shipping containers are built to carry loads on their corner posts, not on their roofs and walls, and are not designed to be buried.
Where do you install?
Anywhere we build: Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Tennessee and Texas, and other states on request.
